It is a great honor to be the principal of Hardy Elementary. Before coming over to Hardy as the building’s principal I was a teacher at Glengary Elementary for the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. While at Glengary I taught five years of 2nd grade and two years of 3rd grade. Along with teaching in Walled Lake, I was fortunate enough to be the head varsity boys basketball coach at Novi High School for four successful seasons.
My wife, Rebecca, and I live in Commerce, MI with our two daughters, Eleanor and Evelyn. Rebecca is an educator also, as she teaches middle school science for the West Bloomfield School District.
I have my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Alma College, which is a small liberal arts school in the middle of the state. While at Alma I played four years for the basketball team and spent one season on the football team. A few years back I earned my masters degree from Concordia University in Educational Leadership. Recently I completed a Central Office Certification program through Oakland University and in the fall I will begin my studies towards a PhD in Educational Leadership at Oakland University.
Hardy is truly a great school community and I am honored to be joining such a great place where everyone believes all students can learn! Joining the school community at Hardy is still one of the proudest moments of my life and I committed to continuing the tradition that Hardy has established.
I have an open door policy so if you are in the neighborhood please feel free to stop in and say hi.
