There are a variety of Special
Education classroom programs for handicapped students in the South Lyon
Community Schools. A local school district must make such programs available if
they are needed by handicapped students. South Lyon Community Schools provides
services through in-district and out of district facilities. In some instances,
we contract with another school district or agency to provide the service. By
law, programs are required for persons identified as:

Not all programs and services will be provided for each
student. An Individualized Educational Planning Committee (IEPC) determines
which program and/or services are appropriate for each student.
