Welcome to Sayre Elementary School!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My career in education began after graduating from the University of Michigan in December of 1995. I was hired to teach 5th grade at Sayre in the fall of 1996, and during the next eight years, I taught both 4th and 5th grades. I received my Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University in 2002. Also in that year, I was thrilled to be one of the one hundred recipients of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. When Dr. Herrala retired after the 2003-2004 school year, I was honored and excited to take over as principal. In the seven years since, I’ve enjoyed teaching and learning along with Sayre staff, students, and community members each and every day!

I invite you to visit our school and see education in action! Sayre has highly qualified teachers, an engaging and challenging curriculum, and fantastic students. The dedication of our entire staff and parent community is the foundation for our success, and we count on a strong partnership with parents to provide the best possible education for our students.

At Sayre, we believe…
