Counseling
The Counseling Office at South Lyon East High School is
staffed with two guidance counselors, who work with students individually, or
in groups, on matters relating to college, career planning, student scheduling,
and personal social adjustment. Students and parents are encouraged to consult
with counselors so that plans can be formulated which take into account the
students' interests, abilities and achievements. Counselors work closely with
administrators, teachers, parents, and students to ensure that the South Lyon
East High School experience will be a positive one for all involved.

Past graduates if you are
requesting a transcript, please fax your request to 248-486-4009 with
the following information:
- Full name (maiden name)
- Birth date
- Graduation year
- Address where you would like the transcript to be mailed
- A telephone number if the Student Services office has to call

Credits & Calendar
South Lyon East High School is structured on a traditional 6-period day
within two semesters per 175-day school year. Students earn ½ credit per
course per semester with 24 credits possible over four years. |
Graduation
Requirements
- Classes of 2010 & Beyond: 23 credits
- and the state-mandated graduation requirements.
All students are required to take the Michigan Merit
Examination (ACT, Work Keys & content area tests). |
Report Cards
The student school year is
divided into 6 marking periods of 6 weeks each, with report cards issued
at the end of each one. At the conclusion of each semester, report cards
will include final examination grades. Course credit is determined by
semester grades. |
