It is a great honor to be the principal of Hardy Elementary. Before
coming over to Hardy as the building’s principal I was a teacher at
Glengary Elementary for the Walled Lake Consolidated School District.
While at Glengary I taught five years of 2nd grade and two years of
3rd grade. Along with teaching in Walled Lake, for the past four years I
was fortunate enough to be the head varsity boys basketball coach at
Novi High School.
My wife, Rebecca, and I live in Farmington Hills, MI with our 15
month old daughter Eleanor and our dog, Gerry. Gerry has adjusted well
to the newest member of our family but certainly misses some of the
attention he used to receive. Rebecca is an educator also, as she
teaches middle school science for the West Bloomfield School District.
We both graduated from Walled Lake High Schools and this August 5th (I
still haven’t forgotten this date) we will celebrate our 6th year of
marriage.
I have my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Alma College
which is a small liberal arts school in the middle of the state. While
at Alma I played four years for the basketball team and spent one season
on the football team. A few years back I earned my masters degree from
Concordia University in Educational Leadership.
Hardy is truly a great school community and I am honored to be
joining such a great place where everyone believes all students can
learn! Being named principal at such a wonderful school was one of the
proudest moments of my life and I committed to continuing the tradition
that Hardy has established.
I have an open door policy so if you are in the neighborhood please
feel free to stop in and say hi.
