AdvancED School Improvement Plan
Our district
has implemented a rigorous academic assessment program in all core
curricular areas. We have district assessments in Reading, Math,
Writing, Science and Social Studies. These assessments are aligned with
the Michigan Standards and Benchmarks Framework. These, along with MEAP
standardized assessment data, provide our staff a clear picture of
student results and progress. Our staff uses their expertise to analyze
the data and adjust effective teaching strategies to target specific
areas for improvement. Achievement results through the use of
credentialing plans - successful mastery of benchmarks - is critical to
success of our students.
Triangulation of data determines our student
performance goals. Our staff targets these goals and design
implementation plans to improve student achievement in the core
curriculum.
Our school will have a peer review, called a
Quality Assurance Review (QAR) in 2011. From their feedback and
analysis, we will determine any modifications to our school goals and
plan.
Student Performance Goal #1: Students
will improve in reading comprehension in the content areas of social
studies, science and math.
Student Performance Goal #2: All
students demonstrate an improvement in exit level computation skill, and
will be able to interpret written data for the purpose of grade level
appropriate problem solving.
Student Performance Goal #3: All
students will improve their writing process by integrating their reading
knowledge from different genres, and empowering their writing with
text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections.
