Gatherings
At Bartlett Elementary School, students in grades K-5 meet monthly as a community of learners, to celebrate accomplishments, build character, and increase self-esteem. Each class carries a banner that they have made, and hangs it in a special spot. Teachers and students perform skits dealing with such topics as, respect for others, anti-bullying, recycling, etc. Monthly student birthdays are recognized by the entire school at the Gathering. Bartlett school songs are sung, accompanied by drums and music played by students and teachers.

C.H.E.E.R.S.
Bartlett is extremely fortunate to have many volunteers who help in the classrooms, the main office, and wherever needed! Last school year, volunteers logged over 5,000 hours helping students and staff.

Adopt-a-Reader Program
This program is made up of volunteers who have been trained to work with students in grades kindergarten and first. Students read, write and play literacy games with the volunteers, on a weekly basis.

Post Office
Bartlett has its own post office! Students design and sell stamps, each classroom has a special address and a mailbox. Students apply for positions in the post office, and are chosen through an interview process. The Bartlett Post Office has a post master, letter carriers, and letter sorters.

Fifth Grade Camp
Each school year, fifth grade students attend Storer YMCA Camp, in Jackson, MI, with their teachers and carefully chosen cabin leaders from South Lyon High School. (Cabin leaders are often alumni of the camp.) At the camp, students work in co-operative groups to learn problem solving and communication skills through a curriculum aligned with the state of Michigan’s science curriculum.

Beating the Odds School
Honored by the Michigan Department of Education as a Michigan school "Beating the Odds".

PTO
Bartlett has a wonderful PTO! This very active group sponsors family activities, raises money to purchase books and materials for the students, and does charitable acts for members of the school community.

Shared Involvement Process (SIP)
The SIP is a committee of parents, teachers, administrator and support staff, who meet monthly to determine Bartlett school policies, and financial issues. The SIP publishes minutes of each meeting, and invites comments and agenda topics from the community.

Golden Apple Award
Bartlett Elementary School was recognized by receiving the Golden Apple Award from the Michigan Department of Education, for significantly raising MEAP scores.
